This course covers Retinopathy of Prematurity, Cortical Visual Impairment, and Other Children's Eye Conditions.

This course is available for CRC, ACVREP, and NBPCB credit.

Course Objectives:

  1. Retinopathy of Prematurity: This 20-minute module includes the various stages and zones of retinopathy of prematurity, current treatments, and prognosis.
  2. Cortical Visual Impairment: Based on the work of Christine Roman-Lansky, this 17-minute module includes the classic signs of cortical visual impairment and how to identify it.
  3. Other Children's Eye Conditions: This 20-minute module includes a brief overview of the following eye conditions including symptoms, treatment, and prognosis: Retinoblastoma, Aniridia, Nystagmus, Strabismus, Amblyopia, and Albinism.

The following are recommended screen reader and browser combinations.

Note that currently, course quizzes are not functioning properly for Microsoft screen reader users with Chrome or Edge.

The course shows a start date, but this is simply the date the course was made available to the public. They are self-paced. So, there is not an end date. You can enroll at any time.
